Portland "JailBlazers" change their look in 06!

Coach Nate McMillan said about his Blazers team, at the Century Hotel for all the ears to hear:

"The first thing I want to talk to them about is the perception of the Blazers from the view of the NBA, the NBA players, and after travelling around the world, from the world," McMillan said. "And the perception is not good. I mean, it's worse than I thought it was. I knew the perception was bad, but the feelings of people outside of Portland, there is just absolutely no respect for this team. And a lot of that is due to what we have done off the court. We have to change that".

adding:

"It's still going to take patience," McMillan said. "This organization has been damaged, it really has, as far as things that have happened and some of the things we are going through. So this will not happen overnight. But I've talked to some guys, and I will talk to the team, and tell them we have to change what we do off the floor. The players have to understand we are better than what people are saying . . . if we change our attitude."

In an attempt to get fans to forget the old moniker developed years ago, embelished in recent weeks with the "justbarely NOT criminal" exploits of the teams captain, "Zbo" in a downtown hotel room.

Blazer Brass have this year decided to give the team a new manageable look, perhaps more appealing to the community!

In fairness, his has been a redesign in the making, it began early this summer with the tumbling tirade of trades of veteran and young players. It began with the signings of Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Alderidge. This team opens camp today!

The Blazer headache twins are yes, still taking up space in the Rose Garden. Darius Miles and the aformentioned team captain Zach Randolph both happen to be the most highly paid, and even more highly overrated problems for the franchise. The new blood, this was brought in to boost the teams reputation as well as the teams production. They are also being counted on to increase ticket sales- immediately, as in, last week!

When it all settles out, hopefully the pieces will fall into a more enjoyable place. These "newbies" just may make going to a Blazer game enjoyable again.

Alas, unfortunately, I still have to be content just to listen to the games "streamed" over the net. So,

From all the way over here in Kansas... Good Luck guys!
