Tomorrow is Big for Turley

He hasnt hit anyone in two years with a whistle. His cleats havent hit foriegn turf in last 24 months. His weight is growing slowly as he bulks up to take on All-Pro NFL lineman again!
In last weeks practice he took on Erasmus James, when they practiced against the Vikings last week. The Chiefs were impressed with Turley’s play against the former No. 1 draft pick. But practice is conducted at a certain speed, below that of a game. That’s what makes the game Saturday even larger, this a big step for Turley. He has been quoted as saying “It’s a game situation, so that’s good,” their first preseason game for Coach Herm Edwards, adding that “Minnesota was a practice. The game takes a different mentality. Everything is a little bit faster. People will be moving around much quicker.
Kyle Turley is looking forward to playing against this year’s overall No. 1 draft pick, Houston’s Mario Williams. He thinks it will be a good test for him. He feels he is ready to face a premier talent like Williams in Saturday night’s game against the Texans in Houston. However Williams will have to change to the right side to get a shot at him.
Weight continues to challenge Turley because he has lost several pounds since he battled his back issues. He says he’s up to about 280 pounds, which is still light for an offensive tackle. Turley said he’s comfortable playing at the lighter weight.
By comparison, Roaf is 320 pounds. RT Kevin Sampson is 312. Time will tell if he can handle the bull rush of those NFL lineman. Jared Allen, the premier DE of the Chiefs says “He (Turley)told me he’s always played kind of on the light side, or not too much heavier than he is now." that usually Turley makes up for it just because he’s a good athlete, with an evil intent to get the job done.

Well will all get our first chance to see "tenacity" unveiled this weekend!
