Can't we rejoice in what we have? 'Underated- in their own Home Town!'

We are number 3 in the entire NFL in pass defense in Kansas City. Whats with all the "dissing" of our KC pass defense, locally? There have been a total of only 29 passes thrown for completions against our "porous defense" I keep reading about.

Oh yeah, in case math is not your strong suit, thats under 15 passes per game. ? Hear this, we give up less than 150 yds per game! I am joyful!!!

Now, there are 29- (twenty-nine!) other teams in the NFL which define the word "porous" more generously, compared to the Kansaas City Chiefs. I recommend that all you writers here in town, start using the word "stingy" when describing our pass defense. Heckfire! Undefeated Cincinati averages 205! Denver 215!

Additionally, Chicago, vaunted for a great NFL defense- has 184 ypg passed against them. Seattle undefeated as well, gets 222ypg thrown at them, to go with with a mediocre schedule thusfar. The -Indianapolis Colts, offensively one of the most dangerous passing teams have been "porous" enough to allow 181ypg when teams take it to the air against them. Feel any rejoicing coming on, football fans?

Okay, I know, San Diego and Oakland are the two teams that have better numbers, that lead the league. We three have one less game, granted. But we are talking Yards Passing Against us -Per game! Number three is still very very respectable! What we still need to work on, what we still need to improve is our takeaways and our sacks. Please know it gang. They will only improve with time. They will come when the players learn more about each other, on the field together. I predict we will improve on both numbers this week.

This week the San Diego pass defense is at work at Baltimore and the Ravens will roast those SD numbers at home. Oakland faces Cleveland later on in the day, on the west coast. The Cleveland Browns have thrown the ball for 183+ypg over the first two weeks. Yes, there will be some torquing of these numbers. Of course, the numbers get adjusted every week, with every opponent. Please. Please. Can't we at least rejoice in what we do have, at least today???

Unless we get lit up by Alex Smith at Arrowhead, (he averages 252 per game) the 150 we have averaged should make for a Grand Ol' Tussle.

IF we can hold the 49ers passing numbers down we can remain in the top five in the entire NFL. At least then maybe we can get respect from the national media, if NOT in our own hometown, in Kansas City!

Roll on Red Warriors!
