A few less Tigers in the Jungle.

Chris Perry can do things with a football in his hands few others on the Bengals can, but the running back won't be able to flash his speed and skills until the middle of October. As part of paring the roster to the NFL's 53-man limit, the Bengals placed Perry and two other players on the Physically Unable to Perform list, meaning they will miss at least the first six weeks of the season.

Additionally, suspended superstar Bengal linebacker- Mr. Odell Thurman, still has 4 additional criminal convictions pending. Two of the upcoming charges also involve illegal activities and happen to be substance related. Thurman, began his first four-game suspension after playing in the final preseason game Friday night at Indianapolis. With those other charges, he is expected to incur at least another four gamer with convictions of at least one more. The remaining though will be handled at the discretion of the commisoner of the NFL. Many bengals fans forsee a mandatory one year suspension.

Unfortunately, Coach Marvin cannot count on those and a few other legs to help defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in their season opener at Arrowhead this Sunday. There may be others yet unannounced, but two such important pieces, one from the offense and another from the defense may help to make Larry Johnsons running 'tude and the Chiefs defense feel alot more at ease.

Starting to feel like the Jailblazers East!

The Bengals got their fill of issues over the offseason. With the real thing a week away, one of this team's big questions awaits the following Chris Henry's sentence. Mr. Henry, Cincinnati's third receiver, has been involved four arrests in a seven-month period beginning last November. He faces his first charge in court date later this month in Orlando on a felony gun charge and he still has a DUI case pending against him in Clermont County Florida. This guy too, is troubled for sure, but the consequences will not envelop him in time to keep him off the opening day active roster. Darn!

And Finally,

Chargers linebacker Steve Foley, also a former Bengal, was shot by an off-duty policeman in front of his San Diego home early Sunday in his second run-in with police in 4½ months. Coach Marty Schottenheimer does report the wounds were not life-threatening. Foley's agent, David Levine, told the AP that Foley was shot three times and had surgery for wounds to his leg, arm and chest. All this after refusing to obey the commands of a police officer after a high speed chase.
