This is a nice Pro Bowl matchup, although the 33-year-old Adams has been limited in preseason and Shields (who turns 35 a few days after the game) missed the last two games with an ankle sprain.

Adams (knee) returned to practice Friday for the first time since he impressed everyone with his Bengals debut Aug. 25.
If healthy, he's the run-stopper the Bengals have coveted for years
and will make an impact
against a run-oriented team like the Chiefs right away.

"I heard all the horror stories about Sam, but I've never seen it," said the guru. "He's not a problem. Sam comes to play. Maybe he's had issues with conditioning, but for 30-35 snaps at that spot, he's still as good as anyone in the league. He still has that quickness off the ball and the ability to wreak havoc.
He is definitely going to help them."

But the proud Chiefs offensive line of the last 10 years is no more
with the retirements of tackles Willie Roaf and John Welbourn,
and the guru says the Bengals should be able to take advantage of
left tackle Kyle Turley (out of the game for two years) and right tackle Kevin Sampson has just one NFL start. Sampson is on the injury report and up next would be Will Svitek, an all-league player in NFL Europe who has yet to play in an NFL game.

"Their offensive line is different. Turley is only 275 pounds and the question is going to be how he holds up against bull rushers," the guru said.
"It's not the same offensive line."

Congratulations JW!!

Yes, Jason Whitlock, KC sportswriter and ESPN contributor hit the mark,
he was 'right on the money today!'

He talks about how Coach Marvin Lewis and the Bengals want desperately to shut the mouths of public opinion about those unending lets call'em...
"legal issues"
that clouded the teams image of itself, as a winner.
Lewis would yes, love to start fast and gain
instant credibity
with the media-
immediately!

Whitlock added,

"We’re going to find out a lot about Kansas City’s defense today.
With a trip to Denver on the schedule next week, today’s contest is as close to a must-win as a season opener can be.

Thankfully, Cincinnati’s defense has far more holes and questions marks
than Kansas City’s. I expect Larry Johnson, Trent Green and Tony Gonzalez to cover for KC’s defense. The Chiefs will win a shootout. I hope."
