Our Chiefs Can use a little Godly Intervention!

"Whether you call it luck or momentum or the blessings of God, a lot's gone our way," said the New Orleans Saints offensive lineman Jonathan Stinchcomb, "We just got to keep going in that direction and hope the cards keep turning up in our favor."

Many are calling the New Orleans Saint's truly blessed this year. Karma, or whatever, is said to be at work. 'Good Juju' is another phrase being uttered in those obscure Voodoo shops, in those small out of the way places in New Orleans. I have no opinion really, I am just taking this time to feel happy for that team. The Saints.

"We were good and we were something special," said Saint Steve Gleason, whose blocked punt led to the first touchdown against the Falcons. ...Yes, boys, you were.

Does the Lord take time to intervene in an NFL football game? Would He use an opportunity in front of a crowd of 80,000 or so strong, with a nationwide audience on ESPNTV, to send a message ...a message of hope and pride, after that area faced such devastation and despair? You bet He would!
However, it is essentially the Saints football team who are being used to send the statement here. You could hear it all over, in the voices on that team. The Saints wide receiver Joe Horn said it too, "Oh yeah. A lot of people's jaws were on the bottom of their chest in the third quarter ...It's cool, We knew what we got in this locker room and we had to believe in ourselves."

May these our Kansas City Chiefs take a small opportunity on Sunday afternoon, in front of a voracious hometown sea of red, to reflect on the work ethic, reflect on the pride, and consider the faith of those embattled New Orleans Saints. No, our team does not have to depend on a Godly intervention, they needn't go down south and buy up Voodoo dolls to improve their juju. This team needs just to take full advantage of the talent that makes up this 2006 Chiefs football squad.

This team too, has some fine tools. The league has provided the schedule, CBS will help provide a regional audience, the crowd in attendance will surely add to the fire. The Chiefs need to just- let it happen, they need to search inside themselves, search for that faith inside each of them, to overcome the day, and its' obstacles.
They can, they will.
Find a way to win.

Again from New Orleans, Coach Sean Payton said it well-
"It doesn't take long to figure out how important this team is to this community," Payton said. "From a coaching standpoint, player standpoint, organizational standpoint, (we) understand that, appreciate that. The best thing we can do in return is to play good football and win."

In Kansas City Coach Herm Edwards knows that too, he preaches it weekly, very well. So lets remember that on Sunday and
..."Just win Baby!"
