Plummer vs. Cutler, is there really a choice in Denver?

I remember back Ohhhh... 4yrs ago, and beyond, when I lived in A-town, in the great State of Oregon. It was back then in the heyday the "Elway era" in Denver. Jake Plummer then was the man I use to root for, to bring the Arizona Cardinals to the playoff dinner table.

Well that was a few dayz back so I thought I'd have to recheck the facts.

After nine years, Elway had thrown for about 27,900 yards, 148 touchdowns and 140 interceptions; Plummer though has thrown for about 27,200 yards, 150 touchdowns and 148 interceptions and played for a bottom feeding offense most of the time, for the first six years of his career. He has played as well as has been expected in Denver since, and hey, it would have been difficult for anyone to match his numbers with the Cardinals. Honestly, do you see any reason that Plummer could not or would not end up with Elway-like career numbers if he stayed in Denver for the next six seasons? Honestly, he could! Alas, I dont think he will.

Plummer is viewed by the media and the fans in Denver as a loose cannon, I believe, most of these want to bench him for Jay Cutler. These painful feelings Jake has been enduring since last Sunday nights loss, are the result of Plummer's self-inflicted wounds. Elway was a master, he caught on how to handle the media during the mid-week info gathering process. He aced all the seemingly endless questions, some dribble at times, mostly obvious at others. He remained charming and personable flashing his blue eyes and always, endlessly, 'playing with that hair'!

Remember that show? We all do!
Plummer though wears his emotions for all to see.

If Jake has had a troubling day, he will let you know to keep clear or, prioritize his time for you- to put it bluntly. If on the other hand he is feeling confident, no problem, he will answer until he feels he has done so significantly. THEN, he will show you his priorities.

He is not shall we say, not yet endearing in his media demeanor, not quite yet. The fans though and others are growing weary as to when he will grow up. I guess we could all have needed some therapy after all those questions in ther Arizona sun! I dont know. At any rate Jay Cutler was drafted to protect the heritage of the Elway era. He is ready to assume that role, ask him, they say. It is 'assumed' he will get his shot in '07- No matter what Jake does in the playoffs or any Super Bowl!.

Personnel executives around the league have been included in this mindset - they just don't think he acts like like a successful starting quarterback should!

Im sure circulating that message will go a LONG way in making him feel more comfortable talking to the media and endear himself to the fanbase.

Its that old question from college psych class, all over again. What is the problem - Nature? vs. Nurture?

AT ANY RATE THERE WILL BE NO JAY CUTLER DEBUT IN DENVER
HUARD YOU GOT A FULL WEEK GET TO WORK!
and lastly
WHO IS THIS GARDNER DUDE, WE MISSED OUT ON A COUPLE GOOD ONES.... for him?
