Its not Is Huard ready... The Question Is: Is Plummer ready?

(Denver Post / Steve Dykes)

I'm playing as hard as I can." Jake Plummer, Broncos QB

--UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES--
--DO NOT SHOW THIS BLOG ENTRY--
--TO CHIEFS QB BROCK HUARD--

Please, if the Denver media get this,
If the NBC, NFL broadcasting crew get this,
Please, DO NOT show Jake Plummer the quarterback rankings for Week 1
Oh Lord! ...He has enough to worry about!

Have you seen the QB ratings for week 1?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statistics?stat=pass&sort=rat&league=nfl&season=2&year=2006

Damon Huard QB- 97.9
Jake Plummer QB, 26.3

I think all the turnovers Sunday in Saint Louis werent all commited by Jake.
Come on.Cut him some slack! It did however remind fans and the media of that really bad AFC Championship Game last year.
They made most of those turnovers during the Champiuonship game AND in last Sundays game, playing from behind. The Chiefs know all about that!

Usually, the Broncos dont have to play catch up, usually they rely on the defense to hold down the opposition until they catch fire. So now we have to wonder which team will show up and play in Invesco Field Sunday afternoon.

Usually, the Chiefs dont have to play catch up, USUALLY they come out and score early and often. It will be nice to now see if the renewed Chief defense can take this opportunity to make a name for itself and batter back the BONCO potential that has laid dormant.

If the Chiefs Dline, et. al. can manage to hold onto any lead that RB Larry Johnson can build, if it can keep them behind- forcing them to pass, if they can keep those two running Bells from clanging, they have a chance.

The Broncos are 2-14 in games when they trailed going into the fourth quarter the past three seasons, with all but three of those games featuring Jake Plummer at quarterback.

Please note that only one game has involved the Chiefs, but history and the numbers dont lie.
Maybe, just maybe, the odds are on our side Sunday. If Larry Johnson remains 'Hungry'.
Larry... if you cant get it up for the Broncos,
the winless skid,
AND your hurt QB, Trent Green,
Tell us, how can we faithfully call you... Leader?
